Finished size: 76 inches by 72 inches (fits a queen size bed)

 

Materials: Red Heart Yarn Colors: 3- 8 oz. skeins of Lt. Sage, Medium Sage, 4 .5 – 8 oz. skeins of Medium Sage, 4 – 8 oz. skeins of Dark Sage (each wide strip takes 11.5 ozs of yarn and the narrow strips take 5.2 ozs.)

 

#4.5mm Addi needles (or size to make gauge), sewing needle

 

Gauge over pattern stitch:

            In st st:  4 sts and 7 rows = 1 inch

           

Abbreviations

·        WS: wrong side

·        Yo Yarn over

·        K1 tbl : knit 1 stitch through the back loop

·        RT : right twist – knit the second stitch on the left needle then knit the first stitch

·        CDD: Central Double Decrease – slip 2 stitches together knitwise to right hand needle, k1, pass both slipped stitches over the knit stitch (sl2, k1, p2sso)

 

Notes

• Although the odd rows are written out, on every odd row, all the knit stitches are knit and all the purl stitches are purled as they face the knitter. Yarn overs are all purled on odd rows.

Repeat 24 rows for pattern. Work 20 (outside leaf) patterns, or desired length. End with row 2, Bind off in pattern with row 3.

Continue in established pattern till measures same length as wide strips
